Read the rangeEvery range spans the same fraction of its own town rate, 0.75 to 1.30, so a higher priced town shows a wider one. That extra width is arithmetic and not evidence, because the range is a fixed rule rather than a measurement.

Hiring a cladding installer?

A cladding installer quote between £100 and £300 a day is inside what the UK guides publish, and £175 is the benchmark this site models from.

Quoting as a cladding installer?

£175 puts cladding installers joint 15 of 17 on this site, between £140 for general labourer work and £280 for electrician.

How the 30 towns spread out

Every town on one axis, marked against £175. It shows where the weight of the cladding installer table sits, and how far each end has travelled from that benchmark.

Sunderland sits at the other end, on £140.

That is a £66 span across the 30 towns for one day of the same work, and because every trade page on this site draws its rail on the identical £100 to £270 scale, cladding installers can be laid over any other trade here and read tick for tick.

Half the table sits here

17 of the 30 towns fall between £158 and £180. Read that middle £22 band first when a cladding installer quote needs a quick sanity check against somewhere of a similar size.

Above the benchmark

10 towns clear £175, and 9 of those are in the South East, South West or East of England.

How each town figure is built

Three inputs, in this order, and nothing else goes in.

  1. 01The trade benchmark, £175Stated and sourced at the top of this page. Nothing on this page works it out again.
  2. 02A geography multiplier, trade neutralOne multiplier per town, built from earnings data from the ONS and local house prices, applied to every trade the same way.
  3. 03A modelled range of 0.75 and 1.30Low and high are the town's own modelled rate multiplied by 0.75 and by 1.30, never the benchmark.

Rate estimates blend a national cladding installer day rate benchmark, checked against dated UK trade price guides, with official ONS regional earnings and local house price data.

Figures are modelled estimates for guidance, not quotes.

The first card is the spread published according to the named UK price guides. The rest are independent checks that never fed the £175.

How the guides price cladding installer work

The same £175 as suspended ceiling installers

Cladding installers and suspended ceiling installers both benchmark at £175 on this site, so every town figure on this cladding page matches the ceiling page to the pound.Their published spreads do not match: cladding runs from £100 to £300 across three guides.

Most cladding is quoted by the square metre

Checkatrade publishes no cladding day rate at all, and prices it at £80 a square metre for uPVC, £115 for larch and £165 for cedar, labour included.MyBuilder puts a cladding team at £250 to £500 a day, which is a crew rate and not one installer.

A second pair of hands changes the quote

HomeHow prices two cladding tradespeople at £250 to £300 a day against £150 to £200 for one.A June 2026 timber cladding guide runs from £170 to £290 a day in the North of England to £280 to £480 in London.

What other cladding sources publish

BookaBuilderUK puts cladding installers at £220 to £350 a day, on a page that carries no date.Trade2Base, writing for installers in June 2026, prices a skilled cladding fitter or renderer at £180 to £280 and a two person render gang at £380 to £520.Neither is named in the spread above, because one is undated and the other advises the trade rather than the customer.

The material moves a cladding quote more than the day does

On Checkatrade figures, fitted cedar costs about twice as much a square metre as uPVC, at £165 against £80.Eurocell, which makes cladding, puts a cladding specialist at £150 to £200 a day, the same band MyJobQuote prints.

Where cladding installers are counted

ONS has no cladding code, and the Migration Advisory Committee counts cladding roles under SOC 5319, construction and building trades not elsewhere classified.Skills England files roof sheeters and cladders under roofers instead, which is why the pay figure on this cladding page is labelled the nearest trade group.

Timber cladding often brings a labourer

HomeHow prices the main timber cladding installer at £150 to £200 a day and each extra labourer at £80 to £100, on a page last updated in September 2023.That is too old for this site to name it in the cladding spread, so it is printed here instead.

One cladding guide prices by region only

The June 2026 timber cladding guide puts an installer at £240 to £420 in the South East, £190 to £330 across the Midlands and East Anglia, and £170 to £300 in Scotland and Wales. It gives no national cladding figure, so it sits beside the modelled towns rather than inside the spread.

Some cladding is quoted by the hour

MyBuilder prices standard cladding installations at £25 to £35 an hour on the same page that gives its £100 to £300 day rate.Neither HaMuch nor Checkatrade publishes an hourly cladding figure at all.

Cladding Installer wages and pay rates

What cladding installers are paid is a different measurement from the £175 a customer is charged, and both are on this page.

Paid as an employee

£698 a week

ONS publishes no cladding installer code, so the figure is the median for construction and building trades not elsewhere classified. It is a wage before tax, not a rate anybody quotes a customer.

Paid as a subcontractor

£186 a day

Hudson Contract paid £928 a week on its steel and timber frame erection series, which is £186 over five days.the nearest trade Hudson does publish, named as such and not this one

What tradespeople earn sets cladding installers beside the other 16 trades, sourced 5 September 2026.

Pricing a short job rather than a full day, the £175 works out at £25.00 an hour on the working day this site assumes, which is ours rather than a published figure.

What the trades charge an hour sets that against the hourly range the price guides publish for cladding installers, and names the day it divides by.

Common questions

The same answers the structured data on this page gives a search engine, word for word.

How much does a cladding installer charge per day in the UK?

Our benchmark for a cladding installer is £175 a day.

Published UK price guides put cladding installers between £100 and £300, checked 30 September 2026.

Sources: MyBuilder, MyJobQuote and HomeHow.

Across the 30 modelled towns the figure runs from £140 in Sunderland to £206 in Guildford.

Does the cladding installer day rate include materials or VAT?

No.

The £175 is one full working day of cladding installer labour, before materials and VAT.

Why do cladding installer rates differ between towns?

The £175 benchmark is spread town by town with ONS regional earnings (ASHE 2025) and local house prices (UK House Price Index, April 2026).

That is what puts £206 on Guildford and £140 on Sunderland.

That is a £66 gap across the 30 towns for the same day of cladding installer work.

What is the cladding installer pay rate in the UK?

The cladding installer pay rate depends on who is paying it.

ONS publishes no cladding installer code, so the figure is the median for construction and building trades not elsewhere classified.

Employed on a payroll, cladding installers earn an ONS median of £698 a week, under SOC 5319.

For cladding installers paid as subcontractors instead, the nearest Hudson Contract figure is its steel and timber frame erection series at £928 a week, which works out at about £186 a day over a five day week.

That is a nearby trade, not a cladding installer series.

Neither is the £175 a cladding installer charges a customer.
